The PDG Domus Home

Unlike traditional houses built with wood and nails, a PDG Domus structure is constructed with composite materials in a high-tech manufacturing facility. By combining innovative construction techniques, advanced materials, and highly skilled technicians, PDG Domus  produces quality houses—at significantly lower cost and quicker—than traditional stick-built houses.

The PDG Domus home exemplifies our commitment to eco-friendly, energy-efficient, luxury affordable homes, its’ unique features include:

  • Best energy efficiency - Between our steel superstructure and exterior composite panels we sandwich a structural foam insulation that provides a 35 R insulation factor – nearly twice what is typically found in the highest-end custom built luxury house. That means heating and cooling costs are the lowest in the industry. The PDG Domus home has received a 5-star rating from the State of Ohio Department of Development – the highest available.
  • Designed and built "green" - We use non-organic materials, no trees are cut to build our frames or siding. Instead we use recycleable steel, and engineered plastics throughout our structures. Our factory controlled production system minimizes typical job site construction waste.
  • Structural steel framework - Just like the superstructures used in high-rise office buildings (think of the Empire State Building), we use welded structural steel, instead of nailed together wood studs, to give you a home that is truly built to last.
  • Strong, durable exterior - The exterior walls are composite panels that are mar and impact resistant, and because it’s not made of wood, it is termite proof and will not rot. The panels are virtually maintenance free, and with just the bare minimal of care, our exterior should last a lifetime.
  • Superior safety features - Unlike wood or vinyl, our exterior is fire resistant and the PDG Domus home meets and exceeds requirements for Category 5 hurricanes (winds of 150 mph), state of California earthquake requirements, and the roof exceeds the Minnesota snow loading of 240 lbs/sq. ft. (Our roof passed at 380 lbs./sq. ft.)
Where can I build?

The Domus home may be placed on any type of foundation. A pier foundation is often a desirable alternative, it allows for less disruption to the landscape, is quicker to install and less expensive. Foundations can be used with basements, or partial basements with crawlspaces, or the home can be placed on slab. A Domus home can be placed on lots that may be unsuitable for conventional construction techniques, such as hills, mountainsides or on sand. Due to the unique properties of the exterior finish, it stands up well to variations in temperature, humidity and sun.
